INTERVENTIONAL PROCEDURES
What are interventional procedures?
Capital Radiology offers a wide range of interventional procedures for both treatment and diagnostic purposes. These procedures are performed under imaging guidance (usually ultrasound or CT) to accurately target the specific area, minimising risk for improved outcomes.
Our specialist radiologist performs these examinations and our staff provide support during the procedure. Sometimes you will need to stay in the clinic post-procedure for observation, and you may be requested to bring a family member or friend to drive you home afterwards.
Procedure availability varies from clinic to clinic, with larger clinics offering a wider range of procedures. The tests offered sometimes relate to a specialty area of a particular radiologist.
Diagnostic examination of the area and the interventional procedure are usually performed on different days. This allows time for diagnosis and confirmation of the correct treatment option. Our staff will advise you of these when you call for an appointment.
